Safety and Reliability Development in the Maritime Industry
Reliability and safety methods saw a rapid development after the Second World War.These methods were mainly concerned with military use for electronics and rocketry studies. The first predictive reliability models appeared in Germany on the V1 missile project where a reliability level was successfully defined from reliability requirements and experimentallyverified on components during their development stages (Bazovsky (1961)).

South Korea Led Maritime Training on Intercepting illicit Weapons
South Korea wrapped up naval drills on Thursday with the U.S., Australia and Japan in a U.S – led program targeting nations such as North Korea, which is likely to react angrily. The training was took place in the waters near the South Korean city of Busan. It is the first time South Korea has led a multinational maritime exercise under the Proliferation Security Initiative, known as PSI. The program aimed at intercepting illicit weapons and materials to make weapons of mass destruction. Seoul had initially been reluctant to join such drills to avoid antagonizing Pyongyang.
